All things Pasta including basic calories

Pasta

Pasta is one of them foods that many avoid when trying to lose weight and get healthy so should you?

Well no, remember it's all about balance and Pasta can easily be added to your week as part of a good balanced diet.

Like many other products, opting for whole wheat pasta is slightly more beneficial for your health due to its high fibre content, aiding digestion and promoting a feeling of fullness, in addition to providing essential nutrients such as manganese, selenium, copper, and phosphorus. That said, your enriched white Pasta is generally higher in B Vitamins and Iron although you may feel hungrier faster after it.

White Pasta - Penne - 100g cooked - 156 calories

Whole Wheat Pasta - 100g cooked - 150 calories

Although it may change slightly, a typical portion of White Pasta would be 75g of uncooked Pasta which would produce around 180g of cooked Pasta for 280/290 calories.

Again with Pasta, we have a good few tasty pasta dishes in the recipe section but many times it's just plain Pasta that is cooked to go with dishes like Bolognese etc.
